Aliko Dangote, the Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, has chosen to honor the late Herbert Wigwe by naming the road leading to his Lagos refinery after him.
In February, Tribune Online reported the tragic news of the passing of Herbert Wigwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, along with his wife and son in a helicopter crash in California, USA.
During a tribute program organized in memory of the late billionaire banker, Dangote expressed his admiration for Wigwe, stating that although he didn’t serve in the military, he embodied the qualities of a soldier.
Dangote announced that a section of the 120km refinery road, the largest road, would now bear the name Herbert Wigwe. He emphasized that by naming the road after Wigwe, people would become acquainted with his legacy.
Dangote spoke fondly of Wigwe, describing him as a universally beloved figure who lived a life worth emulating.
