Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced his intention to run for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the upcoming gubernatorial primary election scheduled for April 2024.
In an appearance on the news, Governor Aiyedatiwa confirmed speculations, stating his desire to be the APC candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in the state.
“Definitely I will be running because I am already a sitting Governor, and let me say this that nobody wants to be governor for one year.
Give me what the constitution allows me to do. At least let me have a chance of also running for one more term,” the governor expressed in a clip viewed by reporters on Friday.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa assumed office in December 2023 following the demise of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, after a prolonged battle with leukaemia.
The funeral rites for Akeredolu concluded on Friday, and he has been laid to rest.
