The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to circulating reports alleging that Qatari authorities rejected Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s proposed visit to the country.
Contrary to the memo circulating online, which cited reasons for rejecting the proposed visit, the Ministry confirmed Tinubu’s scheduled visit to Qatar on March 2-3, 2024.

Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed the visit, highlighting the longstanding friendship and bilateral relations between Nigeria and Qatar.
The statement emphasized that Tinubu’s visit would involve discussions on various strategic, diplomatic, and economic matters to further strengthen the relationship between both countries.
Additionally, the Ministry clarified that it would not comment on leaked diplomatic correspondences circulating in the media, reiterating its commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
