In a bid to alleviate hardship among residents, the governor addressed the steps taken by his administration, including a reduction in the number of days civil servants are required to work from the office.
He announced that civil servants from levels 1 to 14 would now work from home twice a week, while those from levels 15 to 17 could work from home once a week.
“We are implementing a phased approach starting next week, where lower-level civil servants will work three days a week and those from levels 15 to 17 will work four days a week,”he stated.
However, essential government services will remain operational, with a reduction in transportation costs by 25% for state public transport systems such as BRT, trains, and ferries starting this weekend.
The governor also outlined support measures for other categories of civil servants, including teachers, to ensure they can work five days a week.Furthermore, he announced the imminent arrival of 300 trailer loads of foodstuff, with plans to distribute them to those in need through the construction of four food hubs and the establishment of Sunday markets in 42 identified markets across Lagos State.
“These initiatives aim to provide food items at discounted prices, with a limit of purchases up to N25,000,” he explained.
“Additionally, four more food hubs are under construction, and seven other locations have been identified for future food hub development.”
