The Ondo State Government has announced February 22nd and 23rd, 2024 as public holidays in tribute to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The declaration, made by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, aims to provide an opportunity for the people of the state to honor the late former governor through various programs scheduled for both days.
Following Akeredolu’s passing in Germany on December 27, 2023, his burial is set to take place on Friday in Owo, his hometown, according to the program released by the family.
“The two-day break will enable residents to actively participate in the funeral proceedings of the former governor,” the statement emphasized.
