The Federal Government has decided to examine the N23 trillion Ways and Means debt that it owes.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Mr Wale Edun at the ongoing Public Wealth Management Conference organised by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MoFI)
To avoid further Ways and Means debt in the future, the Federal Government, according to Edun, will soon propose a bill to the National Assembly that will enable the elimination of “all taxes and levies that are troublesome from the country’s tax system.
The government, Edun also said, will actively implement policies that will enable it collect revenue promptly from Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs) and Corporate entities.
