Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has expressed her farewell sentiments to teammates, staff, and supporters of Barcelona Femeni after her move to Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the U.S.A.
The CAF Women Player of the Year initially joined the Spanish giants in 2019 on loan from the Chinese side Dalian Quanjian. Following a successful stint, Barcelona announced her permanent transfer to the club in May 2019, extending her contract until 2022.
Now, at 29 years old, Oshoala has inked a 2-year deal with Bay FC, with an option for an additional year.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Oshoala reflected on her time with Barcelona, expressing gratitude for the privilege of playing for the Champions League-winning team. She recounted the cherished moments, trophies, and relationships built during her tenure, emphasizing the profound impact the club has had on her life and career.
As she embarks on a new chapter, Oshoala assured Barcelona Femeni that the memories and connections forged during her time at the club will always hold a special place in her heart. She concluded her message with profound appreciation for the opportunities and support received, affirming her enduring pride as a representative of the esteemed club.
During her stint at Barcelona, Oshoala clinched 12 trophies, including two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, while netting 107 goals in 149 appearances.
